KARI KLEIV (pronounced CAR-EE CLIVE) is from Kristiansand, the southernmost tip of Norway and she currently resides in Hackney. "When Can I See You" / "Now" is a double A-sided 7" release and is Kari''s debut single. fierce panda first stumbled across KARI KLEIV when she popped into their top secret North London HQ in the summer of 2004 and showcased four songs. Much like KARI KLEIV herself, the music is a mix of wide-eyed innocence and commercial suss. With a film producer for a father and a mother who was lauded in the ''70s as Norway''s answer to Joni Mitchell, KARI KLEIV''s bohemian leanings are obvious and quite frequently vivacious. Over the past year KARI KLEIV has been stealthily working London''s underground scene, honing her tunes, moulding her suitably intimate line-up (which now sees her flanked by a cello player and a bassist) and generally charming the pants off anyone exposed to her fragrant set of happy/sad songs. ''When Can I See You'' and ''Now'' are both taken from KARI KLEIV''s imminent mini-album, ''Secrets Displayed'', due on fierce panda in the spring.
