D-A-D are back!! - and about to launch their 11th studioalbum after three years. D-A-D, Danmark''s most popular foursome, has entered their 27th year of rocking band history. And where other bands with a similiar curriculum are doomed to linger in early-works-administration, the brothers Jacob and Jesper Binzer, Stig Pedersen and Laust Sonne are busy re-inventing themselves time and again. ,Always do, what people don''t expect" condenses bass player Stig Pedersen the band''s credo. On the 11th of November 2011 the new album will take it''s place at the end of a string of worthy predecessors. As early as last year D-A-D started working on ,DIC.NII.LAN.DAFT.ERD.ARK". After countless sessions at ,studio23" in Frankfurt Germany and in their hometown Copenhagen, interrupted by Open Air Festivals and Headliner Shows, an album has emerged that clearly satisfies everybody who was involved. Singer Jesper Binzer describes his feelings surrounding the recording process as an ,atmosphere of euphoric mood" as a ,spirit of a dawning adventure" usually more related to your first recordings. Even more surprising considering the raving reviews of earlier releases. But still: ,We felt a new kind of self-confidence, which also shows in the decision of booking Nick Foss as our producer once again." Foss was also responsible for producing rock history''s classics ,No fuel left for the prilgrims", ,Sympatico" and ,Everything Glows." ,Calling Foss and playing our demo-versions to him, already shows, that we did not exactly doubt ourselves." How focussed and convinced the musicians were, shows in the small list of songs that were chosen early on and were worked on more and more in the creatvie process henceforth. Not their standard procedure. For predecessor ,Monster Philosophy" the musicians had to chose from 25 tracks. Emerging from this work process is an album with 11 songs, which guitarist Jacob Binzer tends to label: ,possibly our best in a couple of years". Well, usually a phrase used all too often in the music industry but coming from the self critical D-A-D, it could at least be a hint that this one will claim a higher rank in the bands long history of musical releases. And Jesper Binzer again: ,Some of those songs cover the area of Classic Rock, with a 70s flow, fat choruses and heavy chords. High and mighty buildings on quakeproof foundations. Also a lot of skandinavian melancholy - fast and slow." A somewhat abstract assessment, which however can surely be heard in D-A-D''s music. Bottomline: D-A-D sticks to their proven policy: ,Always do, what people don''t expect!" TRACKLISTING: 01. I CAN''T EXPLAIN 02. I WANT WHAT SHE''S GOT 03. THE LAST TIME IN NEVERLAND 04.
